Sailorman Sails across parking lot.

Photo Sails donated a custom 12’ dinghy sail to the people that made it all possible. Chuck Fitzgerald, owner of Sailorman in Fort Lauderdale, is one of the world’s nicest people.

A longtime contributor of Sea Seekers, Chuck has been having problems with the strict local government zoning afficianados. It seems, like in many towns, that temporary signage is frowned upon by the city.

The use of sandwich boards, banners signs, and even flags don’t meet the current codes and the only temporary attachment allowable is an American flag. How does one attract attention during those special event sales?

How about parking a dinghy in the middle of the parking lot next to a major intersection and hoisting a 150 square foot Photo Sail into the rigging. Try to find an ordinance against raising a sail on a registered boat. Thanks for everything Chuck. Good luck with “the man”.

LaSalle National Bank commissioned sails for the July 2005 Mackinac Race, the oldest organized American yachting race still in existence. LaSalle National Bank recommissioned sails in July 2006 and 2007

A local restaurant in San Antonio Texas commissioned a Photo Sail to attract business and display their complex / multi-colored logo out in front of the establishment. They have been enjoying the exposure for almost 3 years now, and the owner recently called us to say thanks for the great idea.

After hoisting Photo Sails™ at five U.S. Eastern Seaboard boat shows in 2004. Crocs Footwear sales grew by over 1000%. Starting with $1 million in sales for 2004, Crocs Footwear realized growth to more than $108 million by the end of 2005. Crocs Footwear returned to purchase another three sails from Photo Sails to match their changing logos and packaging. Additional programs are currently being discussed to launch similar boats to brand Crocs Footwear in Australia and other foreign markets. Now Crocs Footwear has grown a total of 1800% with Photo Sails help.

Mr. Kiss,

I am writing on behalf of the Crocs™ crew to report on our phenomenal response to our Photo Sails. Both the press and Crocs™ fans alike are drawn to the uniqueness and the quality of the sails you have made for Hannibal. The Jamestown Journal wrote a story about our brand’s success and featured a picture of Hannibal under sail. The image is striking and our statement is clear. The Photo Sails are floating billboards that demand and deserve the attention of thousands.

Our sails have started numerous conversations with curious boaters who are intrigued with your work and curious about Crocs™. We have also had numerous boaters and loyal Crocs™ fans sail out of their way towards Hannibal, stick out their legs, and proudly display their Crocs™.

Your sails continue to be our single and most powerful billboard that speaks to the boating community. It is a great PR tool when we invite guests to stay on Hannibal and enjoy an escape to the sea. We anticipate future ports of call bringing us multiple media exposures that further aid us in our branding and marketing efforts. You just can’t buy the kind of exposure that your sails have spawned!

It has also been interesting to experience the sails at work over the past three months. The custom adjustments that were made for us have performed perfectly for our captains, “Oli” and Tim.

We are the most popular boat anywhere we go. As you know, we run the gamut of shows up and down the east coast every year. Because of this, purchasing Photo Sails seemed like an investment that would pay itself off time and over again. This technology allows us to not only have the hottest billboard on the horizon, but one that displays the hottest shoe on the market- Crocs™!

Crocs™ shoes allow people to sail in style. Your Photo Sails allow Hannibal to float in style as well. We look forward to many years of successful marketing with your innovative product.

We’ll see you in Miami next year.

Sincerely,

Scott Seamans: Director of Research and Development: Crocs™ Footwear

Dear Aaron,

Thank you for your time. I am happy to report that after five months of flying our new Photo Sails we have experienced amazing results. Our charter booking and profits have soared. The results have been especially encouraging since we were able to achieve immediate results despite the fact that we launched the campaign in our off season. We can't wait for tourist season to start.

In addition we have seen many indirect results such as free publicity in local television spots and even in video shoots of Fort Lauderdale. Our customers are impressed by the novelty of the image we picked and the sponsorship offers we are getting have prompt us to purchase a second and possibly a third 50 foot 49 passenger charter cat. Your Photo Sails have enabled us to enhance our brand recognition and differentiate us form the competition. Every time we raise our sails and cruise the beach, we are booking cruises and charters. This is the most successful advertising campaign we have ever had, and it's free. Your product has been and will continue to be a success for us and anyone who decides to utilize this novel marketing and advertising medium. We look forward to placing our next order in time for season.

Sincerely,

Ziv David Halevy

Your answer to fun in the sun!

Fractional Sailing is the business of creating timeshares with sailboats. Multiple partners on one boat greatly reduces the expenses of owning a sailboat by splitting the fixed costs of dockage, insurance, maintenance, and other necessary fees.

Sailtime partnered with Hunter Yachts in an exclusive deal to utilize their yachts only and use Florida Yacht Charters facilities to dock the program vessels. Taking potential clients, identified at the Miami Boat Show, out for an hour got them hooked on the quality of the vessels involved with their programs and made more confident and educated customers comfortable with a commitment.

Hunter Yachts in an attempt to stick out from the other boat manufactures at the Miami Boat Show partnered with Florida Yacht Charters and Sailtime, a yacht sharing management company. The partnership reduced cost for each of the three parties by 66.6% and the sails were used by all three to take potential clients on 1 hour demo rides directly from the dock during the actual 7 day show, which is the largest boat show in the world.

Hunter got to show off its new line of vessels, Sailtime got to attract people to its registering process, and Florida Yacht Charters got to display the new line of boats available for charter. It is a win, win, win situation and the sails are still used today as a floating billboard next to Magarther Causeway as a floating billboard while 300,000 cars a day drive close by that can't miss the constantly animated sign with the wind blowing across its surface.

Hunter Marine Corporation has entered into a cooperation with Photo Sails to offer unique quality corporate branding vessels in over 30 U.S. and international locations. Photo Sails offers branding vehicles via sailing billboards in all major waterside markets with navigable waterways. New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Houston, Cleveland, Daytona and even Pittsburgh were all originally established as "Port Towns" with coveted natural bodies of water bordering, surrounding or flowing directly through their cores.

Each branding vessel commissioned into service offers a multitude of Public Relations programs such as VIP entertainment, employee team building experiences, on-off premise promotions, public sweepstakes and even guerrilla marketing tactics including cross medium applications like radio trade giveaways and product placement opportunities. Photo Sails provide unique front running branding opportunities for elite products and corporations desiring millions of quality impressions. Additionally, Photo Sails are internationally patented and can offer product exclusive categories with services available in more than 23 countries.

Aaron Kiss, Owner of Photo Sails, has brought his outdoor marketing and event company to the next level of service. Mr. Kiss enthusiastically comments, "This agreement allows Photo Sails to offer branding programs to our clients at reduced prices in all markets with 9 consistent models of different sized beautiful yachts. Now we can offer a full inventory of sailing billboard programs to more marketers with a more flexible services and pricing structure.  "By consolidating our services with Hunter Dealers and passing those savings to our clients, we have cut program prices by an average of 35% to 40% of our initial offering."

"Hunter Marine Corporation is the largest sailboat manufacturer in North America, and part of the Luhrs Marine Group, an employee ownership company and is creating a buyer incentive program that will positively affect all parties involved in this virtually unlimited program. Hunter Marine, Hunter Dealers, Hunter Buyers, Photo Sails and of course the branding vessel clients all benefit from this cooperation," says Eric Macklin, Marketing and Training Manager for Hunter Marine Corp. "This creative and custom effort comes at an attractive time when economic factors affect the growth of new boat orders and the marine market as a whole. This program taps corporate advertising dollars to lower client cost and raise dealer sales of our inventory."

Photo Sails programs create visually hypnotic billboards out on waterways and beaches where they are the only advertisement on the horizon. Zoning laws and signage regulations are no concern because the sail of a sailboat is a functional part of the vessel when propelling the boat making navigation possible. These same first amendment rights apply to bumper sticker on private vehicles located in public areas. The bumper and sail must be present as a functioning part of the vehicle. What is placed on privately owned vehicles is only the business of the owner of that property. Additionally, all cities now wrap their buses and some buildings with advertisements.

The launch of Anheuser-Busch's Tequiza brand product using Photo Sails advertising medium was such a huge success in Miami that the same promotional efforts were expanded to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York and Tampa markets. Anheuser-Busch ranks this product launch as the company's most successful product introduction to the marketplace". Source: Anheuser-Busch.com; Timeless Values publication, 2002.

This promotion allowed Anheuser-Bush to do some guerrilla marketing by trading radio stations yacht time for air time and got product into cramped South Beach Nightclubs where other new products were turned away simply because of limited storage space.

This new marketing medium soon spread to other brands such as Budweiser, Bud Light, Doc Otis and Bush Gardens, located in Tampa Florida.

Odyssey Charters in 1999 witnessed the stunning growth of Sea Seekers Charter profits and repeated the same exact advertising concept that had worked so well in Fort Lauderdale.

The owner commissioned the sail with Poseidon on both sides but with a sunrise backdrop on one side and a thunderstorm backdrop on the other. Sailing close to shore with a cell phone in hand, Captain Ken Martin enjoyed free marketing of his charter services for years and became so busy that spill over business was given to competition for a commission back to Odyssey.

Returning in 2008, the sailing vessel Odyssey was hired to help in "The Vote Boat" Campaign in Fort Lauderdale during the largest boat show in the world with over 3 million impressions gained in one week. The other side of the vessels has this...

The Vote Boat later traveled to Miami to target the Republican Governor's Convention in Miami with new signage added to update the message after the election.

During development of Photo Sails, we created a 600 square foot Velcro sail which allowed us to change messages for local business advertising on the beach and Intracoastal waterways.

Located directly on the Beach in Fort Lauderdale and witness to these sailing billboards on a daily basis, the Oasis Cafe hired Photo Sails to advertise daily drink specials and which bands were playing. The tourists and many locals living in beachside condos within eyeshot of the beach and our advertisements flocked to the establishment.

This tiny corner bar was overwhelmed with business even on early week days and the word about Photo Sails got out. Competing with the banner planes was easy as no clients or customers get to ride on the airplane. Every time a Photo Sail boat went to sea, 6 guests were invited. This passenger capability on a branding vehicle was the first consolidation of branding and public relations for Photo Sails and has since become part of our successful formula.

Now these rides are used for guerrilla marketing by offering them for radio trade, VIP entertainment, employee team building experiences and public sweepstakes.
